In our community:
- Almost half of the students can't afford lunch, much less school supplies.
- Some kids go to school without socks, underwear or showers.
- Teachers spend an average of $500 a year to help care for their students' needs.
- School supply budgets only allocate five cents a day for each student.
How You Can Help
'A Gift For Teaching' would not exist without the generosity of the Central Florida Community. Through 'A Gift For Teaching' everyone has the opportunity to positively impact the life of a local student in need. In order for them to continue providing learning resources for needy children, they rely on the generosity of the community for financial support. These funds allow them to provide basic school supplies, like pencils, crayons, and books along with incentive items, such as games, art activities, and stickers to students who do not have the ability to purchase these items themselves.
